LS Print
- The LS Pro Database workflow means that changes made to an image file are stored as database values and only applied to the image at the final point of rendering, maintaining the original images integrity. This means the workflow does
not store multiple edited copies of an image as in normal editing packages.
LS Print is the rendering module for the LS Pro Database. The LS Print rendering process takes the image file and applies all the database instructions applied to the file by a user in LS Edit, such as sizing, cropping, color/density corrections, and more.
Rendering does not only mean printing an image, LS print also includes the option to render to a prefered file format (JPEG, TIFF, BMP, Targa & PPT) and at a custom size.
There are two main types of printer interfaces available, and these vary between manufacturers. Some use only simple command files where the rendered image is sent with print size and quantity. In these cases LS Print will supply these assets and receive no further feedback from the printer hardware. In other cases the printer interface is more sophisticated and gives bi-directional communication. In this case LS Print can receive additional information from the printer, such as paper widths, control the flow of print jobs from LS Print and alert the operator to printer issues.
